My opinion of Gimp

The last day I saw a presentation of Gimp a digital image edition program. It was created by GNU. I think that this program is for editing images for magazines and advertising. I want to learn with Gimp because I like it. Also I want to use very well Gimp because I like editing images and to do effects in the photos too.
